Ziggy was the only survivor after his Polish Jewish family were first forced into the Cracow ghetto, where his mother was murdered, and onto the Gross-Rosen concentration camp where his father died from exhaustion in his arms. He lost his brother on a death march to Mauthausen, before escaping thanks to the help of Czech political prisoners. The loss of his family never stopped his determination to live, and his daughter Leah Burman has named this talk after his motto, L’Chayim, “To Life”. You can find out more about Ziggy here.
