Tomi’s family faced persecution in Hungary, where anti-Jewish laws predated the Nazi occupation and led to the loss of his father’s business. His father was presumed dead after being forced into a forced labour wing of the Hungarian army. Tomi’s mother supported and protected Tomi when Hungary’s Jews were forced into the Budapest Ghetto, hiding with him until the liberation. You can find out more about Tomi here.
